[Committee: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization
Delegation: The United States of America
Agenda: The Question Of NATO’s Approach Towards The Russo-Ukrainian War And Gaining Support Of Eastern European Nations Against Russia]
'“This is a war to end all wars.”- Woodrow Wilson (in 1917)
In this present day and age, is it true that we cannot say this is true at all. WWII, the civil war in Myanmar and the present war-situation in Ukraine, have completely damaged this statement by the late Woodrow Wilson, the former president of the United States of America. War is leaving its mark on Ukraine, which the United States of America would like to focus on. The Russian Federation has completely degraded itself to a war-machine, continually spewing out weapons and ammunition just to capture Ukraine. The United States of America knows that the Russo-Ukrainian war will provide certain impacts on the United States of America such as:
1. The
United States of America lowered its forecast for real GDP growth for the year
2022 from 3.4% to 3%.
2. It
was the major cause for the European Energy Crisis which impacted many
countries in the European Union.
Some of the ways that the United States has done to
help the Ukrainian side on the Russo-Ukrainian War would be:
1. Setting
up campaigns like ‘ASSIST - UKRAINE’ to help the Ukrainians suffering in or out
of Ukraine by providing human resources like food and clothing.
2. The United States has committed over $23 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the
start of the war at the end of February, according to the Kiel Institute for
the World Economy.
3. To date, the United States
has sanctioned 140 Russian oligarchs and their family members, seizing their
ill-begotten gains: their yachts, their luxury apartments, their mansions.
The Delegation of The
United States of America would like to suggest a few measures to be immediately
taken by North Atlantic Treaty Organization such as:
1. Stage sanctions upon
Russia for starting this despicable war upon Ukraine.
2. Take steps to cut
short supplies from countries alleged to send weapons to Russia like Belarus, China,
and Kazakhstan.
In conclusion, the Delegation of the United States would like to say that this despicable, man-slaughtering and right-ripping war should be stopped as soon as possible. If we give Ukraine no weapons, Ukraine will fall. If we give Ukraine weapons, Ukraine will stand.'
